HFC EDPT - Game times

Teams:

A quick reminder that it is very improtant for players to be at games 40 minutes before game time.  Coaches need the tiime to get players warmed up and into game mode.  When players show up just before the startof a game, the difference in the team's performance is noticeable.

Please help the players out by planning enough travel time to arrive 40 minutes before the start of a game.  Remember for away games to leave a little extra time to find the field and park.

Thank you for assistance in providing a fist class training and game environment for your player.

Boys Red players, please notice that you have 2 games this weekend.  The notification for the second game is being sent now, so please make sure you respond to both notifications.

I am sending our a second notification to those who have not responded yet, so if you receive a notification today please respond to it, by logging into Teamer and indicating Yes or No to your player attending the indicated game.  Thanks.

If you are having trouble using Teamer and that is why you have not responded, please let me know.  Thanks.

Parents and Players:

Welcome to the Spring season.  We hope to start practices next week, assuming the town opens the fields.  Practices will be held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:30 - 6:45 on Upper Wilkins Field.  We start practice at 5:30 exactly so please have your player arrive a least 5-10 minutes early so they are ready to go when practice starts.  We would like to get 5 or 6 practices in before the first games which will be the weekend of April 20-21.  I will send out an email annoucing the first practice as soon as I receive word the fields are open.

We will be fielding 2 Boys teams and 2 Girls teams this season.  I would like to welcome the 18 new players to the pool who are joining us this season and the 24 returning players from the Fall season.  I am posting the preliminary rosters for the teams below, but the coaches are reserving the right to make same changes, if needed, after our first few practices to keep the teams balanced.  We want to make sure each team has a great season and that can be tough to do when we have not seen many of the players play yet.

HFC U10 - Indoor Futsal League

Team:

Our season is coming to an end next weekend, but I know that there are some players who cannot get enough soccer.  While the next official club activity is indoor training starting in January, for players who are interested, I am willing to coach an indoor Futsal team during the Nov and Dec.

Futsal is a form of indoor soccer played around the world and is widely recognized for it ability to improve the foot skills of players.  This would be a 9 week season with 8 games and playoffs.  No practices.  It is a purely fun way for players to get touches on the ball.

This would be an addition cost to the club dues.  The exact cost per player would depend on the number of players on the team, but would be in the range of $75-$110.  If you are interested, please reply ASAP.  I am a little late on this and the team registration closed at the end of the week, so I will need a good idea of the number of interested players before Friday.  If you have any questions please email or see me after practice.  I am happy to discuss.  Thanks and see you on the soccer pitch!

More Information about futsal
NH Futsal League - http://www.usyouthfutsal.com/futsalnh/index_E.html

Futsal is the only form of indoor soccer endorsed by FIFA. It earned the status of FIFA's official form of indoor soccer in the 1980s as it was recognized as a scaled down version of outdoor soccer played indoors. It is a 5 v 5 small-sided game played on a hard surfaced, basketball sized court with a smaller, heavier low bounce ball. Futsal is played with touchline boundaries and without walls.

This is the game that outdoor soccer players around the globe play to refine and maintain their control skills and touch. It is superior to walled soccer in terms of developing better skills and technique. In traditional American walled soccer, players regularly whack the ball (and sometimes their bodies) against the boards which promotes improper technique and too often rewards errant play. In futsal, players are constantly reminded to play the same quality control game that is required for success in the outdoor game.

The sport is a great skill developer as it demands quick reflexes, fast thinking, pin-point passing. The small, heavier futsal ball requires players to hone their ball-striking and ball handling technique. Great soccer superstars such as Pele, Zico, Ronaldo, Messi, Kaka and Katia grew up playing the game and credit futsal with developing their skills.

HFC u10 - Sunday, May 13 UPDATE

Team:

The Boys Red team's game, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 12 @ 4:30pm in Milford has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 13 @ 2:30pm in Milford.  This was done to avoid a conflict with the Night at the Revolution.  This means the two Boys game will be played at almost the same time, so it is very important that everyone shows up.  Boys please let me know asap if you will not be able to play at your game this Sunday as we have very few players to spare.

I have attached an updated game roster to reflect the new schedule and the addition of Ethan Lim to the Boys Red team roster.  Please use this new game roster for you planning.

As always let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks.

HFC u10: Game rosters for the season

Team:

As you probably know our rosters for the two boys team are a little short.  This means we need a couple of extra players for each boys game.  I have created a game roster sheet for all of the games (see attached)  this season and checked off the players I would like to attend each game.  You are expected to attend every game for your primary team, but in addition each boy (or girl who wanted to) has a couple of extra games to attend.  I have spread the extra games out evenly so that all the players should get equal playing time.

Please check the schedules and let me know if there are any games you cannot attend.

Because of the vacation week we have a few boys missing so I am asking all the boys to commit to both games on Sunday 4/29, in Milford, please let me know asap if this is an issue.  Thanks.

HFC/ASC Night at the Revolution

U10 Team:

We have signed up for the Night at the Revolution, an opportunity to play a game on the Gillette stadium field and see a Revolution soccer game.  I did this last year with the BU11 team and it was a great experience and a lot of fun for the players!  We will be taking a boys team and a girls team to the event.

NH Soccer Association and the Revolution are sponsoring a Night at the Revolution.  The kids get to play a game on Gillete stadium field and then after watch the Revolution play a game.  As part of the deal we need to commit to 30 tickets per team.  We will be opening this up to everyone in the club and last year we sold 69 tickets with just one team.  The tickets are $25 ($10 discount).  See the attached flyer for details.

If you are interested, please respond with the name of the player and how many tickets you will need.  You will also need to fill out the attached order form and turn it in to me.

Please reply and let me know:

player name
number of tickets

I will be looking for at least 10 boys and 10 girls to commit, although I will take as many as want to participate.  If you commit to the tickets, once we order, you will be responsible paying and finding alternates if for some reason you cannot attend.

Let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks

PLAY A GAME ON THE
GILLETTE STADIUM FIELD BEFORE THE REVOLUTION!

Games will be 8v8, 25 minutes, u8-u16 boys and girls

Space is very limited within each age group

Spots can be reserved with minimum purchase of 30 tickets

ASC u10 games - CANCELED

Team:

Just received notice that tomorrow's games for both the Blue and Red teams are canceled.  These games will not be rescheduled.  As these are the last games of the season and we have no more practices, this is the end of the Fall season.

Two reminder items.
  1. The club is trying to reschedule the end-of-season event.  Please look out for more information about this during the week.
  2. If you have not already, I encourage you to register your player for the winter training sessions.  The training is a great value and will make sure your player is ready when the snows recede and the Spring season begins.
Thanks and as always let me know if you have any questions.

ASC U10 Red at Hudson United SC @ 1:00pm

Team,

Our last game is on Sunday, 10/30 at Hudson Freedom Fields against Hudson United.  Please wear red uniform shirts to the game and bring white.  It is supposed to be a sunny day, but it will be cold so please dress appropriately and bring something warm to wear when you are not playing.

Also please remember that we have the club end of season event on Saturday.  I hope everyone will be able to come and enjoy the skills, tail gating and soccer game.

I also want to encourage everyone again to register for winter training.  The more u10's we get to train together the more effect the training will be and the more improvement everyone will see come the spring season.
