FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. It is difficult to plan our weekends when we do not know what game our player will be playing in.  Can we know the team they will be playing with in advance?

ANSWER: The team published a game schedule listing each player and the team they will be playing for at the beginning of the season.  If you have misplaced the schedule or have questions please contact the coaches.  It is very important that players show up for every game on their schedule, so we avoid forfeiting a game.  If you cannot make a game, please inform the coach 1 week before so an alternate player can be scheduled.

  2. When should players show up for a game?

ANSWER: Players should plan on being at the game site, ready to warm-up, 35 minutes before the game start time.  If there is a 3:00pm game then the players should be ready to start warm-up at 2:25pm.  Please notice that you should not arrive at the field at 2:25pm, you need to be at least 5-10 minutes early so the player is ready to start warm-ups at 2:15pm.  For home games planning is easy.  For away games please leave extra time for traffic, getting lost, finding the field, finding parking, etc.

  3. It is raining.  Is the practice/game canceled?

ANSWER: Unless you receive a email or phone call canceling the practice or game, you should assume it it on.  Cancellations will, in general, only occur for thunder & lightning storms, and field closures.  When in doubt, please contact your team manager or coach.

  4. What color shirts should we wear for games?

ANSWER: Please wear your red uniform shirt and bring your white uniform shirt, unless you are informed otherwise before game time.

  5. What color shirts should we wear for indoor games?

  6. What tournaments are we playing in?

ANSWER: In the Fall we will be playing in the Pepperell Fall Classic on Columbus day weekend.  We will send out the schedule when it becomes available.  There should be a link
to information about the tournament available from the homepage.

In the Spring we play in the Memorial Day Classic Soccer Tournament hosted by the club on Memorial Day weekend.   There should be a link to information about the tournament available from the homepage.
  7.  What are these Lists my player keeps talking about?
ANSWER:  We have set simple skills challenges for the players and asked them to practice 5-15 minutes a day everyday on them.  I have told them that if they do this they will master these skills by the end of the season.  Please encourage you player to do a little something everyday, it will make a big difference I promise.  If you have questions or concerns please let me know.

List #1 -  Any juggling - Juggle the ball using any part of the body.  The thighs are the easiest and preferred method to get high counts.  Drop and bounce the ball off the thigh and repeat as many as possible. How many can you get?  Make 10 or more in a row and get on the list.

List #2 - Preferred Foot Instep juggling - Juggle the ball using the instep. Ball can be started from a drop or from a pickup move. How many can you do before missing?  Make 5 or more in a row and get on the list.

List #3 - Head juggling - Throw ball underhanded up about 2 feet above head.  Strike with forehead back straight up in air.  Repeat.  How many can you do before missing? Make 5 or more in a row and get on the list.
List #4 - 1 Touch passing - Setup with a partner 5 yards apart. Pass the ball to your partner. Partner returns ball with a 1 touch pass. Repeat continuously without having the ball stop and always going 5 or more yards with each pass. How many can you and your partner do before missing?  Make 20 or more in a row and you both get on the list.
